What is an End-of-Life Doula?
As an end-of-life doula, I provide support, advocacy and guidance, to individuals (and their families) as they navigate the last stages of their (or their loved ones) life. A doula helps to prepare for death, live well through dying, and, as a celebrant I can also facilitates an authentic and supported farewell.
An End of Life Doula is a trained (non-medical) care giver, supporting a person physically, emotionally, spiritually and practically. Our non-medical role is to preserve the quality of wellbeing, sense of identity and self-worth from the moment we are called upon.
I have been trained and continue to training with Living Well Dying Well, the sister company of End of Life Doula UK, to whom I am a member. As a member I agree to adhere to their Code of Practice and am part of a supportive and empathetic peer mentoring group
How to work with me as your End-of-Life Doula
Everyone’s circumstances and needs are different, so we start with an initial conversation. From there we can explore what I can offer you and how I can best deliver those services to meet yours and your family/friends needs.
This could encompass anything from regular in person visits; to video or phone calls; to facilitating family/carer/support meetings or researching and signposting for you.
My intention is to provide, easily accessible, inclusive, non-judgemental, support and guidance as an ally and companion to help you manage your needs.
An initial call is FREE and without any obligation. My focus is on ensuring you gain access to the right services and I may not be that person, so lets talk. If I do work with you, my rates begin at £20ph but everything would be agreed up front and there will be no surprise added extras.
