How about this location for an elopement? A “just the two of us” ceremony, with a hand tying and exchange of rings. As romantic goes this, in my mind, is as good as it gets. Just the couple , in a secret location, with their celebrant and a photographer.
The Perfect Romantic Secret Location
Freya and Daniel, simply wanted to declare their love for each other and commitment to each other in a simple and meaningful secret ceremony (elopement) under an ancient oak tree, in a location special to them. The location was a small area of ancient woodland overlooked by Cadir Idris and the ruins of Castell Y Bere.
A couples photoshoot with the addition of a hand tying ritual and exchange of rings and sonnets. I nearly cried, it was so beautiful. Their intense love was palpable. And captured the couple, their love and sincerity, and their magical location, beautifully.
Pagan Hand Tying Ritual
The couple chose their cord and brought it with them.
Their right hands were joined together with their pulse points touching. They could feel each others heart beat. I bound them together with their cord in their colours representing their hopes for their union. Green for new life, renewal, creativity and female power; purple representing royalty, spirituality, magic, mystery and idiosyncrasy; and white signifying hope, peace, clarity of thought and new beginnings.
I tied the cord with and infinity knot, symbolically weaving together all their hopes and love for their future.
And, whilst their right hands were still tied, they were able to read their favourite sonnets to each other and exchange rings.
